This article is about Republic Day which is celebrated every year on 26th January in our country. Republic Day is the 3rd biggest event in our country. on 26 January 1950, the constitution of India is prepared by the drafting committee by Bhimrao Ambedkar. Republic Day is also marked as the birth of modern India. Republic Day is celebrated with a great honor to honor the constitution of India as it came into force on the same day in 1950. On Republic Day a national holiday is declared by Indian Government. the act 1935 of India is replaced by the governing document of India. the new Indian constitution is approved by an Indian constituent and then it is decided to celebrate Republic Day on 26th January every year by the Indian government.
History Of Republic Day
India gets independence from British Rule on 15 august 1947 following the Indian Independence Movement led by Mahatma Gandhi. our independence came through Indian independence act 1947 (10 & 11 Geo 6 c 30) it is the act of parliament of United Kingdom. On 28th august 1947, the Drafting Committee was appointed to make a permanent constitution. A draft constitution was prepared by the committee and submitted in the assembly which is held on 4 November 1947. The 308 members of Assembly signed two hand-written copies of the documents one in Hindi and one in English in January 1950. After two days it came into the whole nation.
Why Do We Celebrate Republic Day
In India, Republic Day is mainly celebrated in Delhi which is our national capital. Indians celebrates this day by doing Parades. Sweets are also distributed on this day in schools. Cultural Dances are also performed on this day.
In 2016 that is the first time in history when French contingent participates in Republic Day Parade of India with Indian forces. The timing of Parades is also decided. Celebrating Republic Day is the way to express Freedom of India from British Rule. Republic Day is celebrated in the whole India in colleges, schools, universities with a great joy. In schools, colleges, universities, may also organize functions on Republic Day 2017.
